Sara Kumar has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University and an M.A. in Faith and Culture from the University of St. Thomas. Sara is currently serving as a Teaching Artist with The Rhapsody Theatre in Frisco, Texas. She has written, directed, acted in and composed music for many different dramatic events over the years, but now she is a poet and playwright, with a STEM background.
Sara especially loves responding with contemporary pieces to Shakespeare and writing about ancient and new intersections of culture, faith, science, and reason. She needs to, sometimes, think about editing a play piece about Andrew Johnson’s family life and political life during the Reconstruction Era at the end of the Civil War.
In Summer of 2026, Sara is editing her poetry book for adults and children, about freedom dreams and democracy, entitled "Colorful Dream Poem Book."
Thanks be to God, and let there be peace.
The artist, Sara Kumar, associated with Broadway World, ArtSeed in San Francisco, California, The Rhapsody Theatre in Frisco, Texas, and work in South Asian American theatre, in Houston, Texas, is the same person. This artist's work spans theatre, arts education, science and engineering with arts education, writing, and community arts initiatives.
Broadway World Page for Sara Kumar,
and I'll respond, when I can, in writing, with love and care,
so thankful.
Let there be peace and freedom.

Love and Love
The artist, Sara Kumar, is pictured above, in both photographs,
wearing a camiseta, with artistic rendering of Servant of God, Dorothy Day,
who helped found the Catholic Worker Movement.
The text on the camiseta is, "Catholic Worker."
Dorothy Day's racially integrated Houses of Hospitality,
helped establish communities,
where food could be distributed to people, regardless of race.
Dorothy Day's publication, "The Catholic Worker,"
helped give voice to the struggles of Black workers.
Sara Kumar loves to research about the life of Frederick Douglass,
and think about Frederick's life and writing.
She also loves to think about virtue and democracy.
The three autobiographical books of Frederick Douglass are:
"Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave"
"My Bondage and My Freedom"
"Life and Times of Frederick Douglass Written by Himself"
Frederick Douglass met with President Abraham Lincoln,
at the White House, on more than one occasion.

These above four photographs were taken,
at Theatre Unlimited in North Hollywood,
California,
with artists, working on,
Sara Kumar's play, "The Rainbow Room,"
and all the proceeds from the production,
went to benefit NARSAD Artworks,
in California.
It was so amazing to be,
with these so very talented artists,
in the Hollywood area.
